Travel and pregnancy

So this was my first trip while pregnant with #2. I went to Orlando, FL. Stayed in a hotel right in the middle of disney world. Sucks I couldn't bring Parker. Nice hotel called the Hilton Bonnet Resort. Travel there was fine, food once I got there not fine! Everything was fish, sushi, soft cheeses, hot dogs and raw hamburgers. I was quite sad/hungry. Unfortunately this child got lots of chocolate and bars this trip.

I am surprised at the reactions by my work colleagues. People I typically get wasted with at these conferences. One reaction was"oh my god no"! Another was "another one bites the dust" and another reaction was "you can't do this we need you". I was quite shocked.

I held up ok through the trip. I really wore out the second night and the last day of the conference. I couldn't get out of there fast enough on Wed. Overall though the reactions were positive and people were happy for me in the end.

Corporate america just isn't friendly to women that are working with children and or pregnant. No open mindedness if they have talent and want to keep it. Coming up with creative ways to keep talent and let them mother as they wish. If I ever have a business of this scale, I will make it a passion to figure this one out.

Pregnancy and travel didn't work well for me this trip. We shall see what the future holds!

Good night!

To measure or not to measure

To measure or not to measure! This is the question. My mother told me I should start measuring my belly now, and I say hell no! After parker, I packed on 20lb's and didn't shed them, because I knew ultimately I would have one more...So why go through all that work? The time has come and I am now with #2. So the belly was already there. I will not measure until the middle of the second trimester when you can actually tell it is a baby and not just FAT!

Parker is cute as always asking what the baby is doing now...all the time. He tells his teachers how big my belly will get and that everything I eat he/she eats. He calls it she...:) Feeling good, getting bigger and ready to get to where my belly is showing! My next appointment is Feb 10th. I will be 16 weeks. They tell me that they can try to take a peak and see if it is a girl or boy! Yeah! I won't buy anything until 20 weeks where I officially find out.

I have to say I am not as hungry and or craving food as much as when I am not pregnant, which saves on our budget, but I really don't like to eat right now. I love food and the taste of food, and so if I don't want anything I really don't want to eat. I know, I know think about the baby, which I am...but man! I could go for some sushi right now...:)

Well, look for another post and video soon of the big 16 week appointment.

Peace!

Parker's Reaction to the baby news

Parker's reaction to the baby news

I have to say, whoever told me to record us telling Parker about the new baby had a great idea. I will always remember this and love how cute little kids can be. Parker is excited needless to say. The video is pretty funny. He is being so cute and careful with me. Always asking if the baby is doing ok. Does she like this or that, it is cute. It is nice to know I can finally tell people and start getting excited about everything. I am trying very hard to be calm this pregnancy, I seriously need a snuggler this round! Take a look at the cute video below of Parker talking about the babysito...See you guys in a couple of days when I have something new to report.

Finally Pregnant

Sonogram 12 weeks
So after 6 months of trying we finally have the second addition to the Anderson family. I am officially 3 months prego and feeling much better than I did over the holiday's. I barely remember christmas this year. I don't know if it is that I am older - 36 now with this one or if it is a different sex, but this one is kicking my butt! Today's appointment was great. He/She was active and bouncing all over the place. He/She heart rate was a strong 164. They measured the nucal tranlucancy and it was 1.8, don't really know what that means yet, but apparently after the blood test I will have a better idea if he/she is healthy. I saw 2 legs and 2 arms so I think everything is looking good. Questions I asked today were, around stress and the effect on the baby. He didn't say anything was officially proven that they are directly linked, so maybe it is ok that I can't handle stress...:( Also had to ask about CHi Tea. Looks like is on the approved list, decaffeinated of course. I am extremely happy and can't wait to find out what it is. We told parker tonight and his reaction was so cute. You will have to watch it on the video....HA! "I get a baby for my birthday"...:) I will post it tomorrow night. Good night.
