I am surprised at the reactions by my work colleagues. People I typically get wasted with at these conferences. One reaction was"oh my god no"! Another was "another one bites the dust" and another reaction was "you can't do this we need you". I was quite shocked.
I held up ok through the trip. I really wore out the second night and the last day of the conference. I couldn't get out of there fast enough on Wed. Overall though the reactions were positive and people were happy for me in the end.
Corporate america just isn't friendly to women that are working with children and or pregnant. No open mindedness if they have talent and want to keep it. Coming up with creative ways to keep talent and let them mother as they wish. If I ever have a business of this scale, I will make it a passion to figure this one out.
Pregnancy and travel didn't work well for me this trip. We shall see what the future holds!

you are so right....corporate america can be brutal. Try to put a positive spin on it and think about it as you are so valuable they don't want to loose you. That is the only reason people react that way. You are awesome at your job and an awesome person so they are just sad at THEIR loss!
